Job 19 : Bonding On the Doors

To bond on the doors I cut a slot up from the scoop hole for the unique door handle mechanism and used the angle grinder to remove the paint where the door skin will be bonded to ensure a solid fit.  I then smeared this in resin and a layer of fibre glass, before screwing the skin on and using clamps to bend the skin in place.  Once the resin has fully set the screws could be removed.

 
 
With the door in place I could were able to connect the new door handle mechanism with the MR2 handle, this proved a very tight job with the small access hole in the door.  The corsa handle pulls a rod downwards which is connected to the MR2 rod, hence opening the door.
